Common-Law Admission Test is a centralized national-level entrance test for admissions to twenty-two National Law Universities in India. Most private and self-financed law schools in India also use these scores for law admissions.

UG Pattern:

  • Duration: The total exam duration will be two hours.

  • Type of Questions: The question paper will contain multiple-choice questions.

  • Language: The questions will be asked in the English language.

  • Marking Scheme: One mark will be given for each correct answer.

  • Negative Marking: 0.25 mark will be deducted for each wrong answer.

Here we have given the section-wise question weightage of the CLAT UG exam:

Sections || Questions

  1. English language: 28-32

  2. Current affairs including general knowledge: 35-39

  3. Quantitative Techniques: 13-17

  4. Legal Reasoning: 35-39

  5. Logical Reasoning: 28-32

Total: 150

PG Pattern:

  1. Duration: Candidates will be given 2 hours to complete the exam.

  2. Questions Medium: Questions will be asked in English language medium.

  3. Marking Scheme: 1 mark will be given for each correct answer.

  4. Negative Marking: 0.25 marks will be deducted for each incorrect answer.

  5. Questions Type: Objective & Descriptive type questions will be asked in the question paper.
